Student Mobility
Students can apply for exchange between member schools. They should fill the exchange application form and return to the international coordinator in their institute. Most schools also require a portfolio and a CV that is sent to the school they want to visit.

Mobility is about exchange through meeting and working together in courses, seminars etc. This has been the core activity of the network from the beginning. It has been very successful in creating an understanding between students, administration and teachers in the institutions. Mobility will continue in the coming years, especially now, with the expansion of the network to the Baltic countries. At the same time has traditional mobility become less important in the last years because travel costs are much less than in the early years. Cirrus wants to create opportunities for meetings in shorter periods like express mobility of students in common courses (especially on master level) and by increasing the opportunities of meeting points for teachers and students.
The Nordplus program handbook says about student mobility:
Mobility grants are awarded for full-time studies or work placements lasting 1-12 months in another Nordic or Baltic country. The grant is available to students of any nationality studying for a degree at a HEI in the participating countries. Research students are not eligible for a Nordplus grant. The grant should be seen as a contribution towards the additional cost of studying abroad.
Grants are also available for work placements and are awarded according to the same guidelines, criteria and rules as regular student mobility grants. The following rules also apply to student mobility grants:
- the studies abroad shall be fully recognised as a part of the degree at his/her home institution.
- ECTS shall be used.
- the student has studied for at least one year at his/her home institution (exception:Â Joint Study Programmes).
- the student shall not pay any tuition fees or similar fees during his/her stay abroad (with the exception of any student union fees).
- the student shall live at his/her place of study; commuting between place of study and ordinary place of residence is not permitted.
- confirmation of grant award shall be signed before payment is made (as per appendix).
- a learning agreement shall be signed before the exchange.
- a final report on the exchange shall be submitted by the student after the exchange hasbeen completed.
